He’ll regularly cast dark moves that cover large parts of the screen and come out fairly quickly. If Phase 3 is where Nero gets serious, Phase 4 is where he gets mean. Lean into Stagger abilities at that point to push the gauge as far as you can and, after taking enough damage, the research staff in the adjacent room will intervene. Lean into ranged attacks and Ninjutsu at first, then switch to close-range attacks once he begins to be Pressured, or if he grabs Sonon with his wings. Keeping the team buffed and healed, dodging Nero’s lunging attacks and pistol shots, and closing the distance to attack him physically are important, particularly during the first two phases of the fight. Nero has no weaknesses, so use Haste, Barrier, and other powerful abilities to swing the fight in your favor and press whatever advantage you have in the moment.
